This policy explains what the campaign committee Kara Lofthouse for Folsom Cordova Unified School District School Board 2026 (FPPC #1454096) collects through this website, what we do with it, and how to get it removed.
The short version: we collect only what you type into our forms, we use it only to run this campaign, and we never sell, rent, or trade your information — and we never share your phone number or your text-message consent with anyone else for their marketing.
What we collect
We collect information only when you choose to submit one of the forms on this site. Depending on the form, that is:
- Your email address
- Your ZIP code
- Your first and last name
- Your phone number — optional, only if you choose to provide it
- Whatever you write in the message box
- The date and time you submitted, and your browser's user-agent string (the technical description your browser sends with every web request)
We do not use advertising trackers or third-party marketing pixels on this site, and we do not build profiles about visitors who never fill out a form.
How we use it
- To reply to you and follow up on how you offered to help
- To send campaign updates by email
- To send campaign text messages — only if you checked the text-message box when you gave us your number
- To organize volunteers and campaign events
Text messages
Providing a phone number is optional, and giving it to us does not by itself sign you up for texts. We send campaign text messages only to people who separately checked the consent box on our sign-up form.
If you do opt in: message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. You can opt out at any time, and opting out of texts does not remove you from email updates (or vice versa).

Who we share it with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
Your phone number and your text-messaging consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.
We share information only with the service providers that make this campaign run — for example our website host and our text-messaging provider — and only so they can perform that service for us. They are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, such as by a valid subpoena or by California campaign-finance law.
Where it is stored
Form submissions are stored in our website host's key-value storage (Cloudflare). We keep them for the duration of the campaign and for as long as afterward as required by California recordkeeping rules, then delete them.
Getting your information removed
Email votekaralofthouse@gmail.com and ask. We will remove your information from our lists. You can also reply STOP to any text, or use the unsubscribe link in any email.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the date at the top.
